I saw Steve Coogan live in which the 2nd half was Alan Partridge last year.

The one thing that stuck with me was when he came on he did the "AH HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA". but then carried on doing it, carried on, and carried on, and then (as Steve Coogan) said "are you fking bored of it yet? I am".

Which grated on me. Because he was there doing the whole second half of his show as partridge, happily taking the money. And now this.

I loved Alan Partridge though, but that kind of ruined it a little for me.

Hmm indeed.
I love AP. Watched an ep of the second series last night, love the Return of the Saint theme. But a film? So long after the series? Sounds a little like his carer is stalling.

That's certainly what I thought after seeing him on tour last year, but hopefully this could mark a return to form.

I read some time ago that Armando Iannucci wouldn't be interested in being involved in a AP film. I really hope it turns out to be great, but without all the original writers behind the scenes I'm not sure.

I read that too. He was very disappointed with the way Series Two of I'm Alan Partridge turned out.
