TV website said:
Jools Holland presents his 17th annual Hootenanny, featuring performances by a mixture of veteran artists and modern chart stars. Tom Jones performs a few classics from his songbook, and Boy George returns to live TV for the first time since his prison stretch. Also taking the stage are Paolo Nutini, Dizzee Rascal, Dave Edmunds, Kasabian, Florence Welch, Stereophonics' Kelly Jones, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Paloma Faith, Shingai Shoniwa of the Noisettes, and show stalwarts Rico Rodriguez and Ruby Turner. As usual, Jools' own Rhythm and Blues Orchestra will be backing many of the solo stars, and as the clocks strike 12, the Pipes and Drums of the 1st Battalion of the Scots Guards help ring in the new year in their own rousing fashion. As well as the musical entertainment, Jools chats to the celebrity audience members, asking them to share their thoughts on the past year and give their predictions for 2010
I'm stopping in with the missus and will be simultaneously watching this and enjoying the company of my fellow PHers.

Much like last year then!

It'll be on in the corner while I'm stuck here marking exams. No choice about the matter due to deadlines.

Anyway, the line up doesn't look all that great - Ruby Turner and Paloma Faith are the only ones worth watching, to me.

Anything with that Dizzee Rascal in is a complete waste of my time and electricity - I'd rather be in bed than watch that sh!te . . .

I don't dislike it, but I wasn't crazy about that performance.

There are some incredible women in the crowd.

Jools dies on his arse trying to talk to guests - they really seem to be unable to muster anything amusing or interesting to say. Shame Boy George is getting so much time the show. Kasabian rocked, Paolo was the star so far.
