Starmer is attempting a "reset" but it's a pretty poor start to need a reset less than 6 months after a landslide election win. Labour are now polling almost even with the Tories, and it isn't because Badenoch has pulled off any sort of miracle. Labour are just falling apart under Starmer. According to odds checker the Tories are already likely to have more seats after the next election. It's hard to imagine he will lead Labour into that election on his current form.
Interesting question is, who will Labour replace him with? Top 3 by odds are Andy Burnham, Rachel Reeves and Angela Rayner. Who else is a possibility? How will they get rid of Starmer and when will it happen?

I doubt Mr Burnham will be leaving his cushy, very well paid post anytime soon, currently he has little scrutiny and even less opposition. So why would he firstly stand in a by election then go for leadership race he might not win. Also some will just look at him as an opportunist and mark his card for that.

Why would Labour commit intentional hari-kari in this way?Starmer isn't going anywhere for some time yet.
The dissatisfaction with the current Government is a symptom of modern politics and the way the public view it, not Starmer in particular.

Get a grip man. Put your tribalist ranting aside, accept Labour won and you lost, and we have 5 years to see how it plays out. Odds that Tories will have more seats given anything could happen in fours years in between, its like saying Liverpool will win the PL in 2029. What utter nonsense to be leaning on. Surely they're all in politics for a crack at the top job? He's coming up to 8 years as mayor of Manchester, early 50s not especially tainted by Corbyn or Starmer.Or how about Sadiq Khan? Londoners seem to like him.

And we've at least another 4.5 years of these threads to go.
As it stands, if an election were called tomorrow with the state the Tories are in, Labour would likely end up with an even bigger majority. The Tories are present are not even a viable opposition, let alone a government.
I don't think we'll have a GE anytime soon, but I wouldn't bet against Labour MPs ditching Starmer.
For the next couple of years, Labour MPs will be concerned about policy rather than popularity.
So, will there be enough dissent in the ranks soon?
Possibly, because money is going to be tight I reckon.
So many new MPs, we don't really know much about most of them, how many of them would ditch Starmer for some crazy promises of Tax and Spend?
Or will the overspend already promised cause a backlash towards more Blairite thinking?
As Labour Leader, can Starmer be deposed by the wider membership?
I suspect the popularity of the government among the Grauniad reading party membership might be sliding rapidly downhill, and that could get much worse if mortgage rates go up next year?
