Yes, an utterly mundane middle aged topic but the crap plastic pumps that seem to come on every soap dispenser are doing my nut in. They look good for a while but then the chrome effect finish goes completely to st and end up looking properly tatty.

Does anyone know of any good quality stainless steel/brass ones?

I'm sure there must be some differences but 'stainless steel soap pump' thrown at Google gives a lot of very similar pump bottles.

I have one that looks broadly similar to them and it's survived a few years but no idea which specific ones are actually good or not.

Quite a few architects I work with on high-end resi projects specify products from the likes of CP Hart.

Depends what you want to spend tbh.

Can they be plugged into a shaver outlet or do they have to be recharged from a normal socket elsewhere in the house - website not clear?

They look decent but I'm already annoyed about the amount of personal and household stuff I have to remember to plug in so think I'll stick with a manual system for soap dispensing!!.

It says battery life 3 months on a charge; most gadgets have usb sockets these days, but weirdly it doesn't specify what the method is while it does tell you things you don't need to know, like that the battery is lithium ion. It does seem like needless complication unless you're a clean freak and can't bear to touch surfaces that have been touched by others.

We have these in a chrome finish. They were in the house when we bought it and six years or so old now. Still look like new.

We inherited this one.

It’s a fair few years old and still looks like new, and gets filled about once every few months

I have the double version of that in my shower for shampoo and shower gel.

For those asking about the auto-dispensing soap it has a USB charger with a mag-safe type waterproof magnetic socket on the dispenser. It lasts months on a charge - I have them because I like techy gadgets.

I also have a Simple Human kitchen bin and some other bits I can't think of right now. Their stuff is very nicely made and just works really well.
