How to bend / repair this plastic case
Discussion
Purchased a second hand archery kit for my kids today - great toy
The big plastic box is the target / storage and comes apart by design at the hinge to transform into the target
It hinges and clips closed correctly but it looks like it was stored with some arrows hanging out, so now the box doesn t close neatly, causing the arrows to fall out and clatter the nearby car / house paintwork etc
Ideally I want to bend it some how back into shape, what s the best way, leave it in the sun compressed under some weight, heat it? Or some other cunning plan
If it used additional things like catches etc, the kids won t use them so will end up never getting put away properly
I have a nice gap beside the freezer in the utility room ear marked
Any help appreciated

I would start with laying it down flat but closed and waft a hairdryer over it until the plastic is nice and warm and then lay a length of wood board over the now warmed up bent section and weigh it down with several tins from the kitchen over night.
It should hold the flat shape once cool again.

Get a couple of spring clamps that will fit around the corners of the box and hold it together.
Place something , about 5-10mm thick in the position marked. A folded up towel will do.
Clamp the corners of the box together, heat across the entire closing edge, both sides, then quench them with a damp cloth.
Leave it an hour or two and come back to check results.

The towel acts as a spacer allowing the corners to be bent further, equally, and will support the weaker area around the handle as the corners are bent.
May just have got hot in someone's shed.
As mentioned, getting it back to flat will require over bending and heating but you'll probably improve it by clamping between two bits of wood to hold it flat and either pouring boiling water over it or using a hairdryer or fan heater on it.
Or just wait for another hot day and leave it out in the sun with some weights on the corners?
