Verge end nail

Im capping fascia and under these metal things the original builders nailed through the existing wood fascia i assume tonhold it in place while they mortared.

I need to get a fascia cap into the corner and the nails im the way.

If i cut it off is that held in place with mortar so not going to cause issues?

That's a hip iron - it will be nailed or screwed to the hip rafter and is designed to stop the hip tiles moving downhill

might need to cut out a nip of fascia then.
