We have a Franke Ascona mixer tap in the kitchen, it started dripping a few months ago so I bought cheapo cart’s on Amazon for about £9 & replaced them both.

It still dripped but only very slightly so I stupidly left it.

Today it’s much worse & I have isolated both water feeds as I was out all day.

Genuine valves are £36 a pair(!), do I purchase these & hope it sorts it or bite the bullet & get a plumber in to replace the tap?

Luke.

Franke have a 5 year warranty and their CS is very good. I had this problem just last week with ours leaking around the neck and they sent out new o-rings then a new neck. Give them a shout...

Tap is older than 5yrs & they want proof of purchase.

Think my neck is also leaking very slightly.

That’s why I’m wondering it it’s worth investing in the genuine ones.

Franke Ascona Sink-Mounted Mono Mixer Kitchen Tap Chrome - Screwfix https://share.google/wp9Jpy36AZ7ipx1is

A new tap is £113.99.
You can change a tap yourself in less than an hour

A set of tap spanners makes life much easier and is only £10.49
Rothenberger Monoblock Tap Spanner Set 3 Pieces - Screwfix https://share.google/U6fJupm8uriL8DhuH

You will probably need the spanners to fix the tap if you only replace the cartridges as it will be easier to work on if its not on the sink.

That would be the logical solution. I have learned through bad experience that saving money can cost you time and money.
