Grohe wall hung toilet.

I remember this being a pain in the neck, and the brackets felt loose until tightened.
You have put the metal sleeve over the top of the rod right? I can’t see this in the photo and is needed to land the grub screw against. They’re the silver bullet shaped things with a notch:

If you get really stuck give Grohes technical helpline a call in the morning.
You can also buy replacement fitments of the black mounts if needed.

The box you are showing is to allow you to close off the cistern and then tile up to the plastic shroud.
Once tiled you can then trim it back flush to tile level.
Your picture isn’t very clear but it looks like you have a pneumatic flush boing by the blue hose.
Take a good look at the Grohe instructions. They might be hard to read but actually are very concise once you get to understand them.

Thanks for replies above much appreciated. One last issue. Come to put the bits in for the flush and I seem to be a part missing . Does the valve need a piece of plastic to mount it? I'm not overly happy with grohe customer support. It's just some guy working from home who has very little knowledge of grohe kit.

The online video shows a plastic bracker. I don't have this.
