Electric boiler and indirect cylinder question.
Discussion
I'm trying to work out what's going on here.
The (electric) boiler is a Heatrae Sadia C900 (9.5kW), with an unvented indirect cylinder (Santon PP170B).
This cylinder has an immersion heater at the bottom, but there are 3 cables going into it.
Should it be possible to run the immersion without running the boiler?
There is a timer with individual settings for hot water and heating. Setting the heating to schedule to off results in no hot water, even though the hot water is scheduled to run.
I'm not entirely sure how this is wired, and I realise I'm probably grasping at straws here expecting someone to know - but it's worth a try!
If it helps, the MCB for the boiler is 50A which suggests to me that this is rated ti supply both boiler and hot water?
