Angle grinder brand new today but chewing up tile adhesive and it's absolutely caked.

Does anyone bother cleaning tools and if you do what do you use to clean them when the jobs finished?

A damp cloth to get the worst of it off, maybe. But in general, I like my tools looking like they get used, I wouldn't want to keep them pristine.

Depends what's on it. Paint brush will get dust and loose stuff off. Damp kitchen roll is good for wiping. Old toothbrush for detail cleanup.

Brick dust is one thing that loves to stick so needs cleaning off.

It's the dust on tools needing lube I want to clean.

Would a dash of white spirit be a bad idea?

Give it a blast with an airline.
If you don't have a compressor then it's a perfect excuse to buy another toy!
