LED Strip lights
Discussion
Im just wondering if anyone can help me decide on help with some lighting.
In our kitchen we have a large woodburner which is set back behind a fireplace, the plan is to add some lighting which i can stick to the
reccess behind.
I got a cheap amazon set which i havent opened it yet as ive noticed it makes whites from rgb so my guess is it will have quite a blue tint.

Ideally looking for -
Nothing crazy fancy but a nice warm white, rather a constant light rather than small dot leds.
Bonus if we can change the colours and can be voice activated with google/alexa.
Something i can cut rejoin to 3 sides, power will feed from the arrow on the below picture.

Warm white cob strips would be my go to here. We have them under our kitchen cabinets and they look great. I have the power supply on a smart plug that is controlled via alexa, I can also control them via some buttons that are hooked into Homeassistant so I can switch them on without waking SWMBO when I get up early for work things

Just an FYI if you go with that kind of LED strip you will need a diffuser strip like this - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C2BXN13PIn our kitchen we have a large woodburner which is set back behind a fireplace, the plan is to add some lighting which i can stick to the

PS. with a diffuser you don't need to peel the back and stick the strip down. And since the metal diffuser base screws to the surround and the front just clips on you can take them down and re-use the RGB strip somewhere else.

Get some RGB you can set exact colour. We have these in our kitchen while you could have them in disco mode generally just set to one colour.
The issue with RGB is getting warm white is tricky, you need RGBW to get it to warm white and if all you want is warm white you really are just better off getting warm white strips. As I already said cob strips are ideal for what the OP needs with a smart plug keeps it super simple. This is one of only a few areas where I can be super confident on PH as I have some experience of LEDs

I'm not sure what the driver is for these ones, but if it's the same Tradfri driver that I have for my under counter (Mittled I think) LED's, they're zigbee so can be paired directly to something like recent generation Alexa, used with a remote Zigbee switch, or tied in to Home Assistant or similar.LED lighting strip, smart wireless dimmable/colour and white spectrum, 4 m
