Had to wash Mrs 595's Evoque today as I'm swapping it next week. The metal bodied Hozelock 'Multi Plus Spray Gun' I bought last February was jammed in the 'on' position (I did manage to fix this) and water now comes out of everywhere.

Looking at my Amazon history, I ordered one in May 2016, February 2017, August 2018 and last year (I've bought plenty more between then and last year but from elsewhere)

Is there a brand or model that people would recommend that might last a few years, or should I just replace annually? I like the various spray patterns for various tasks, but don't need the variable flow that some provide.

Generally better quality than Hozelock.

I googled that model and it looks plastic to me. Are you letting it freeze in winter?

I have a couple a bit like this and they've survived 7-8 years so far without issue: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Garden-Hose-Spray-Gun-Sho... But I drain the pipes down in freezing weather as that broke my previous plastic one.

Definitely metal bodied

https://www.hozelock.com/product/multi-plus/

It is left out all year but I always disconnect it from the hose and drain it

I have got a really cheapo one connected to the water butt pump for the garden. It feels really cheapo unsurprisingly, but does the job. I like the different spray patterns for car cleaning, particularly if I'm not getting the pressure washer out

Yep, that's the one I have. I like Gardena, the fittings don't drip.

I bought one of the many, many versions of this about five years ago, still going strong. Disconnected when not in use, but left outside all year.

I discovered a brand called FloPro recently after getting fed up of replacing Hozelock stuff on what seemed a yearly basis.

It's made of a slightly softer plastic which seals better and doesn't get brittle.

Hozelock metal internals gun. Just keep it out of the weather if you want it very long term.

You will allot certainly never wear out one of these: https://www.waterirrigation.co.uk/shop-by-brand/ge... . It’s plastic coated, in either blue or black, rather than actually being plastic.

They’re supplied with a female threaded inlet, so buy a polypropylene female-female coupler and then add the connector of your choice.

Only drawback is the spray doesn’t have any quick adjustment.

Geka also do these: https://www.waterirrigation.co.uk/shop-by-brand/ge... but haven’t used one.

The one above is good, I have used a similar one that I seem to remember was rubber coated rather than plastic so very durable. Was a little heavy in the hand though.
I normally just buy the cheap sets from the likes of B&M, it was a spear and jackson one last time and that lasted around a year but I did leave it outside in the frost too long.
Left out in the frost and dropped on the floor they wont last 5 minutes.

I'm also in the market for a new spray gun, current Hozelock one just p*sses water from everywhere, this may be a silly question but with the Gardena spray gun do you need to buy a new hose connector too or will it work with the existing Hozelock one?

Gardena is fully inter-compatible.

That said we have the plastic Hozelock 2351 "multi spray plus hose gun" and have no issues.

We're on out second in five years, left out all summer, dropped by me and the toddler, and its just absolutely fine given its under £20. Obviously one did break, at the fitting where the hose goes on, but while I forget how i remember thinking, fairly enough thats on me. Dont think I drove over it, but something like that, might have dropped a large rubber heras fencing base on it i think.

Not a fan of throwing things away but at under £20 that's less than a tenner a year.
