Hi all,

I am planning to build a sips based garden room this spring/ summer. Budget about £10k which rules out a lot of fancy "turnkey" type options, size is 5m across 3m deep (ish)

The sips panels for a oblong box with a large door apature are under £2k from simply sips etc, but what i am thinking of is a front face with wide sliders/ bifold doors across the middle (leaving space for supoort each side) then windows each side of the bi fold door and then windows to the left and right running up to the front edge.

This would let a lot of light into the room (which will face north).

My question is: can anyone briefly explain how a corner window is achieved?

Ie
- a 100mm x 100mm post clad in black anthracite trim?
- special windows that join somehow with a steel support?
- something else?

I probably can't afford an infinity (glued glass) corner with a cantilevered roof... i am wanting something conventional / diyable, but would appreciate thoughts before doing much more research on windows.

Note i am planning to spend the diy saving on the glass, and appreciate there's loads more to buy apart from the sips panels.

I will also ask some suppliers to quote me for a kit innthis format (ie a chap on here got a kit from Poland that seems worth looking into).

To try and visualise what I'm after, here is a traditional box with a full height window

Here is a frame with more spacd for glass

This is much closer to what I want, and I assume the corner is just c24 stud work that would be trimmed somehow ? (Doesn't look enough width to clad with wood)

Here is a fancy room with a nice corner

It looks like they've just screwed 2 windows together - i can't really ask them how they do it, as they sell the complete package and doubt their sales team would go out of their way to help someone with no interest in buying.

Here's another nice one

Thanks

Ian

Did you figure this out or get any further with your plan? I'm hoping to so the same thing
I'm assuming it's a upvc corner post or a bay pole.

You achieve this using a corner post from window widgets. You need the post, a thermal break, an outside flashing (painted to suit), I think a pole/post screw jack.

Not a direct reply with regards to a corner window, however it might be worth checking out tastygarden.shop as a SIP supplier.

I'm probably going to order our garden gym/room from them as they include literally everything in the price, including the uPVC doors.

First found out about them from another PHer who seemed happy with his and posted about the build on here;
