Are Marley and Redland single lap tiles interchangeable?

A retired friend needs a replacement tiles to fix a leak and I've offered to do it for him but don't know which make the tile is, and want to go up on the roof once only to fix it, without risking going up first to take one off to check.

Just buy a few of each tile you think is the nearest match. They are not expensive, then either take the others back or ditch them . Saves back and forth if you just get one type and its wrong.

I think going up and confirming what make they are is the best bet. Not sure how old the property is but there used to be many, smaller roofing tile companies that are now defunct, all with their own design, not like the present with a handful of companies like Marley/Sandtoft/Redland.
A salvage yard will be the best option for obsolete tiles and probably newer ones as well, you’ll be able to buy reclaimed tiles that have weathered in a bit and won’t stick out like a sore thumb.

My house has Marley Modern tiles and a roofer brought a few of an alternative which looked as if it would be okay, but there were small dimensional differences which would have built up to a significant mis-match after a few courses. If you want length and width sizes for these Moderns I can oblige.

From experience the Redland double roman are slightly different to the Marley ones, not by much but they wouldn't interlock.
