Hi All,

Needless to say I’ve Googled this but since having a new boiler fitted and apparently balanced, I’ve been left with 1 radiator annoyingly right next to my bed that now makes the sort of noise I thought bleeding would fix, but didn’t.

I’ve since tried turning the lock shield right down and fully open(by this I mean the non TRV side).

I’m out of ideas now so hoping someone on here might be able to help.

Thanks in advance

I had the same issue recently; you could try closing all the TRVs on the other radiators leaving the problematic radiator fully open, then run the heating for a bit, then try bleeding it. Sometimes this is enough to force the air through.

I'm in a similar situation - a previous owner had a radiator fitted in the loft. But as I have no need to heat the loft the TRV is set to frost protection, so air never collects in there, just in the pipes going up to it, which are right next to my desk. Bleeding the system is a pain, as you have to open up that TRV, run the heating for a while, then bleed the loft radiator, I need a couple of cycles of this every time I disturb the heating system. Which is fairly frequently at the moment, as we are decorating every room.

I gave it a go but didn’t get any air out unfortunately. I’ve set the lock shield at 50% because closing it a little solved the issue on another radiator downstairs. I have already tried this but you never know, second time lucky.

Turns out I just needed to add more pressure to the system. I won’t go above about 1.5 so I opened the valves for about 30 secs even though the needle wasn’t moving. All noises have gone.
