Non-Plant Garden Find ID Please

Any idea what these are?

The metal spikes are about 8cm long. It looks like these two were once attached to each other, and there may have been more.

I found them in the garden, and neither of us have any idea what they are. I think they're too flimsy and fraglie to be plant supports.
