We have a hub, receiver and termosta (the large one with the rotating knob).

The thermostat lost connection and we are trying to repair it with the receiver.

We have the receiver double flashing amber in pairing mode.

We have the hub flashing amber in pairing mode.

We have the thermostat searching.... Forever.

The hive app is awful.
If we use the app it is the same as above.
Though a nice touch is when it says to remove the batteries from the thermostat before clicking find thermosta.
We tried that.
Not a surprise that didn't work.
It never says to put the batteries back in.

I'm at a losd.

Everything in pairing mode.
And tbermosta endlessly searching.
Thermostat tight next to hub.
Distance from hum to receiver never changed although about 9 meters.
It was forgot fine until playing up last couple of months.
Now no connection.

In the app, it just says off line.
The app says lets fix it and then links to lots of article that are not found.

Absolute st.

Thanks for any help.

Mine kept saying offline 2/3 months ago, took me hours to get it paired again, had to set it up from scratch again, before it went again a couple of days later, then couldn't sort it at all. Eventually signed up to Hive Premium or whatever for a month for free, rang them and they went through it all and manually sorted it out after an hour or so on the phone.

Forgot to cancel the free subscription and ending up paying for 2/3 months but whatever.

i bought 6 hive thermostats 4 odd years ago, i never once had all 6 calibrated and working at the same time, and WTF at running the heating for 4 hours to calibrate them, at least a dozen times i spent a couple of hours faffing around with them

utter rubbish

i bought 6 of these in a sale for £120 from amazon, and they have worked perfectly, they have their own control unit that runs at a much lower frequency than wifi / zigbee so dont interfere with anything and calibrate in 30 seconds

they have all worked perfectly over the entire winter

and i sold the hive stats for £140 on ebay

Thanks.

To be clear its not a radiator thermostat.
It's the thermostat that can be moved around the house.
Shiny thing with digital display and shiny rotary knob in the middle.

They can be a pain in the arse. Isolate the boiler power supply, unplug the hub & remove the batteries from the thermostat (I was told by a hive rep to only use Duracell batteries). Leave it for a few minutes. Power everything back up, hub, boiler then batteries in the thermostat & see if things reconnect. It’ll display “searching” & a timer. It should re-pair all the devices within 5 minutes.

Unlucky there!
I’ve had a hive thermostat & 8 of their TRVs for 4 years.
All calibrated from the outset. They just do it in the background..
Zero problems, had to replace a few batteries for the first time last winter.

AI suggests:-
Sometimes Hive devices get “stuck” in a pairing loop.
• Thermostat: Remove batteries for at least 30 seconds.
• Receiver: Turn off power (if hardwired) or unplug for 30 seconds.
• Hub: Unplug and wait 30 seconds.
• Then power them up in order:
1. Hub
2. Receiver
3. Thermostat (insert batteries last)

The hub should be fully online (solid or flashing amber/white as instructed) before powering the thermostat.

Follow the Hive FAQ lines to the letter, when it says wait 30 seconds or hold for 5 seconds etc do it, and do it in the exact order. Overall far more complicated than it should be.

My hub is online and connected.
He receiver is online and connected.

No thermostat connected / online as it as reset and just searches.

I've endlessly followed the app.

I've tried i both ways, but do you really take the batteries OUT of the thermostat just before pairing?!
At that pain isn't it as reachable as a brick?

I moved everything around so that the hub , router and thermostat were my closer to the receiver.
The thermostat right next to the hub.

I've turned everything off for at Lars 5 minutes.

Now going hive+ only to find no contact no.
