As the thread title. The software arm which is separate are trying to start a subscription service so that they can keep going and continue to provide cloud services for remote access. It sounds like the home monitoring app will continue in anywise whether or not they survive, but obviously better that they do to provide app updates at least. They are no longer getting any funding from hardware sales which is the issue.

Regarding the hardware side, service, warranties etc it's all up in the air.

very sad as the kit works well, but clearly they had some issues

I wonder if Octopus or someone will buy them to have their own hardware offering, that would be the best outcome really.

Don't want to be that guy, but it's GivEnergy. Primarily correcting to aid anyone searching.

Quite a few of the usual YouTubers talking about this. Word on the street is that the app will continue to work to provide local control. What will be lost if/when it goes is remote access, historic data and third-party integration (although I have heard that Octopus have some sort of API so that may not be affected).

My battery runs on a basic timed schedule (charges overnight, discharges during the day) so that shouldn't be a problem. System is about 5 years old so 3-ish years left to run on the warranty. So far it has been solid, only one call to support for something I know how to fix myself now.

I haven't tried it myself but Home Assistant can integrate with GivEnergy battery systems.

Probably more of an issue for anyone with their EV charger as they are probably more dependent on the GivEnergy cloud. I'm quite relieved that the EV charger wasn't available back when I needed to acquire one.
