Hi All,

I'm looking to replace two panes of (double-glazed) glass in my front door.

I think that what I need, is something called a glass 'cassette'.

The dimensions of the glass are 20.3cm W x 91.5cm H and the depth is 24mm.

Virtually all the replacement glass that I can find on line, is for the same dimensions, but with a depth of 28mm.

Can anyone please point me in the direction of an online catalog or brochure, where we can find glass that is available in a depth of 24mm ?

(I assume that 28mm glass can't be used, as the wooden beading wouldn't fit correctly).

Can you not plane or router 4mm off the depth of the current beading or alternatively source suitably sized beading from a builders merchants?

https://www.sealedunitsonline.co.uk/regular/defaul...

Used these a few times, in fact I currently have a unit on order just now for a blown unit in my conservatory.

Go with 4mm glass and a 16mm spacer bar and you're at 24mm.

I ordered sealed glazing years ago online, might even have been the link above. Good service, however I'd ordered the wrong size (only found out when removing old). Rather than wait weeks for online, I called a local firm, ordered over phone and had it delivered within a few days - at a much cheaper price. So my advice would be try local first!

A door probably needs toughened glass?
That adds to both price and delivery time.

Get an online price then try some local firms.
