I made some borders and raised planters out of sleepers last year and now I've painted the fence they are looking a bit bland so want to spruce them up a bit. They aren't real sleepers just treated softwood, not sure what they have been treated with. On the inside and bottoms I painted them with bitumen paint so its just the outside really.

I did the fence in a medium oak and they have come out really well but I'm guessing I shouldn't use it on the sleepers as well. Ideally I'd like to go with a darker oak colour on the sleepers I think.

What about this.

I used a 3 coat wood stain by Ronseal. 10 year guarantee looks like it will come true.

I used Creocrete on a new shed base. It's been pretty resilient, but not plant or wild life friendly.
