Look what I found today - big moth content

Just found this chap on the garden path so I carefully scooped it up and put it on the bin so it doesn't get squashed.

Anyone know what it is?

I think its an eyed hawk moth

I think thats quite a rare moth, most are attracted to 60w light bulbs this breed seems to be attracted to £2 coins!

Very nice moth and is an eyed indeed.

Yes, I had lots of funny comments about the coin, most along the line of "did that fall out your wallet and I dont mean the coin".

I moved it to a more secluded spot just invade a bird or cat spotted him and by half 9 it was gone.
