I know there is a few cat lovers on this forum, so thought I'd ask you kind people to take a quick look at this petition for a fellow member on another forum and put your names down and will only take a few minutes and would be greatly appreciated
It's for adding a bitter agent to antifreeze after a spate of antifreeze poisoning of our little furry friends.
Anyway I'll let the original post do the talking.......
Last week, my sister lost three cats as a result of deliberate poisoning using antifreeze. We have our (very strong) suspicions about who's responsible, but without proof, we can't do anything formally and (as tempting as it is) it'd be stupid/wrong to go all vigilante.
Instead, we're focusing on trying to do something positive - so we've launched a campaign to try and make it law that antifreeze tastes bitter. At the moment, it's apparently quite appealing especially to cats, but also to dogs.
I'm aware that cats aren't everyone's 'cup of tea' - to some they're nothing but a nuisance. But all the legitimate ways of getting rid of recognised pests are humane - rat poison works almost instantly - with antifreze poisoning, within a few hours of ingestion the animal's fate is sealed, but it can take up to three days to do the job. It's a horrible, painful and traumatic death - one which my nephews (aged 7 and 6) had to watch their three pets suffer through.
And even if cats aren't for you - remember it also kills dogs and wild animals.
I've set up the following:

We wanted to set up an e-petition, but we got knocked back because one already exists - even though it's only got 5 months left to run. So, we have 5 months to gather 100k signatures. Sounds a lot, but it's possible if we can get it snowballing.
The e-petition is at http://j.mp/antifreezekills - It takes 30 seconds to sign it, and you'll need to click a link in an email to confirm your signature. That's it. Your details aren't public (not even name, it literally just shows the number of signatures).
If you have pets, or know someone who has pets, you should be signing this link and spreading the word. There's no good reason why this isn't already law - hundreds of loved family pets die every year because of this and it's so easy to fix.
Please sign, like, follow and share. Could really use the help.
Cheers all.
