Came home from work today to discover my dog has gotten hold of a tin of white gloss paint, proceeded to open it, spill it on the ground and roll in it.

The paint has dried and won't come out with shampoo.

Is there any way short of shaving him to get it out?

I don't think attacking him with nitromors or white spirits is going to be an option.

It should fall out after a bit as the hair produces oil. But if you do leave it you'll be faced with a fair bit of abuse for being a racist when you go for walkies. wink

Swarfega may break it down a bit. It's going to take quite a while to come out on its own.

Silly doggy smile

You may want to check what the paint solvent is.. if its not water, consider taking to the vet as paint solvents tend to be absorbed through the skin... which isn't great news....

oh no!! sorry had to chuckle too, but wouldn't be if it was my dog!

years ago my dog walked into some gloss paintwork and got a big white splodge on his head, I cut some of it off but the rest took months to come out, to be honest if it's a large quantity id get him shaved..

but in the meantime we need a pic laugh

Why not shave (clipper) the dog? Hardly the end of the world.

Even if the paint isn't absorbed through the skin, I'd be worried that the dog would consume it over time.

We had a half green westie once when it decided to lean on a freshly painted fence.

It was a Friday and he stayed like that until Monday. On his walks other owners were in hysterics about it but most had had something similar.

My current black cat managed to turn his tail white when he got it into the paint tray. Although that stayed like that until it grew out. fk shaving a semi feral cat.

Yes, pretty much like that lol. Same type of dog, even the same colour of collar.

Most of it sames to have come out with him rolling through the hay.
