Tiger/Lion Feeding experience
Discussion
I was thinking about getting one of these for the missus for xmas:
http://www.pwpark.com/experiences/big_cat_experien...
Has anybody done one of these, there or anywhere else in England? We're in Basingstoke but I was planning to make a weekend of it so travel isn't TOO much of an issue.
The other thing is, as I read it, the link I posted is £199 for one person, but if you want someone else there to take pics etc then that's another £100?! That seems a bit cheeky to me.

Given that the second person is effectively getting the same treatment as the first, this kind of makes sense.http://www.pwpark.com/experiences/big_cat_experien...

What has the place actually told you or is it your interpretation of the website?
I also read it as the second person taking an active part in the feeding.
I've not spoken to them yet as I've only just made the decision and was going to wait for some responses to this thread about any personal recommendations.I also read it as the second person taking an active part in the feeding.
Reading it again I suppose it is more likely that BOTH people would get to feed them as it mentions it being hands-on in the same sentence as the 50% reduction for another person. I was quite happy to just tag along as it's for the other half but I wouldn't mind a go myself.

We did the white lion feeding thig earlier this year at PWP and loved it. We were lucky to get a groupon style deal so thought we would give it a go.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and me and the wife got to feed the lions, it was amazing when he stood on his back legs to reach up for some horse meat I was holiding above my head and I realised how short I was! 6'1 so don't feel that often. Really was great and the rest of the park is great, the keepers are all very chatty and are clearly very motivated in designing new layouts for the animals and finding things they enjoy.
Much preferred it to Bristol and London zoos as you can get so close. Also the cafe if you time it right you can have your lunch when the tiger is and you will be able to hear him crunching through bones when you are eating. Pretty cool we thought.

I did it there years ago. I think I paid about £40 per head for 3 of us to go in. We spent around an hour with a beautiful tiger who was about a year old I think and was simply massive! I don't really like the concept of zoos etc but it was an amazing experience and the keeper who was with us was brilliant.
I very much recommend it based on doing it at Paradise but well over ten years ago.

They're not though are they? AIUI the second person just tags along, they don't get to actually feed the cats which is the main reason for going.
Yeah, but the only difference there is going to be which person is holding the meat. It's hardly going to make any difference to them in terms of safety to have an extra person doing the feeding, but having an extra person along on the experience is going to be more risky, and more expensive for insurance regardless of what that extra person is doing.Just to bump my own thread....
Finally got around to organising this as "bought" it for O/H's xmas present, phoned them up to get some details to be told it consists of accompanying a keeper for 40 (yes that's right, a WHOLE FORTY MINUTES), and feeding ONE cat. A single cat. Ambassador, you are truly spoiling us with such wonderful value for money....
So looks like we're now off to WHF instead.

We did it a couple of months ago, in the Philippines. This was a 'tame' tiger, a baby.

The zoo there has about 40 tigers, I beleive they breed them actually.

This one was a real wild tiger, tearing chucks off a freshly killed chicken we could force through the cage. The 'cage' was mesh on the windows of a Jeepney we rode around the park in. It was a touch scary...

Wherever you do it, whatever country, it is a hell of a feeling when that huge beastie is close by, with teeth as long as your finger. The pictures simply do not do justice to these majestic creatures. you can see the look on my daughters face.....she was frozen.
You could faff about with giant snakes too, but the daughter wouldn't even get near this baby.
