Rottweiler Owners? (Gratuitous, soppy puppy pics inside)

Our Boxer of 12 years died not so long ago so I decided to get a pup for mum to keep her company. She grew up around Rottweilers as a kid (her family bred them) and she always mentioned getting another so...
I've found a few books and forums specific to rottweilers but haven't had the time to sit down and go threw the (not inconsiderable amounts of) information within.
Really the only issue we've had so far is she wants to chew on everything. Stones, hands, jeans, tables, doors... We've just been using redirection and putting a toy in her mouth when she tries to bite or if it's persistent, bringing her straight outside and leaving her there for a minute. Definitely getting there, but she's growing at an alarming rate and soon her playfulness could do some damage (currently 11 weeks).
Anyway, soppy pics.
I've tagged them as they're huge, and thumbsnap hasn't paid it's bills by the looks of things.

Ours is now 16 months and has really started to mellow in the last 1-2 months. Before that she was constantly full of energy, where as now she turned into a lazy cow.
We had the whole chewing thing too everything, table legs,chair legs, cupboard doors and door frame to name a few, just glad we hadn't had the kitchen done yet.
Agreed about not having the tail docked, seems to be the stereotypical Rottweiler owners have them done.
People's perceptions of them still amazes me, we've had people cross the road as soon as they have seen her, and some stupid woman going made at the park as she had her RABBIT off the lead.

What a lovely puppy, it's so good to see so many rotties with tails these days. They look more natural, less intimidating to people who don't know them and it's much easier to read their body language.

It makes such a difference, people used to come over and fuss my little girl as she wagged her tail, then they would ask if she was a rottie / lab cross, lost count of how many took a step back when I said pure rottie.I'm jealous!

Misunderstood dogs, especially now the 80's paranoia has died down a little. I hope the same happens for Staffies in abother few years. Admittedly, Staffies aren't helped by the owners covering them in tacky brass and leather accessories...

Just turned 8 months and can put her paws on my shoulders now if she gets excited. Has absolutely no concept of her size and regularly tackles me when I call down to Mum's.
Seems to like this table as well.
And if that's not available and she needs to see what's going on in the kitchen, there's always this...
Brilliant dogs! We have two, Stella is 8 years old, and just shy of ten stone

Sorry about the crappy iPhone pic! She's so so gentle, no fuss, just a loving companion.
We also have Amy who's three and is more like described here! A ball of non stop energy. She never chewed as a pup though, but nipped a lot! She's now a living Duracell bunny!
Agree with the anti Rotti attitude. If I walk them both down the village people cross the road and stop and stare. I think it's hilarious!

Lamentable and sadly not uncommon.What I've heard about Rotties and our experience certainly seems to bear out is that they are very intelligent. There's not much escapes ours. He's often taken short cuts through the rough on our walk home, but over the last few weeks he's been taking longer - disappearing for five or ten minutes - and we've now found it's because he's discovered blackberries and has been browsing his way home.

Our Staffy just nicks strawberries off the plants.
