Bumble Bees

First off I like all bees and tolerate wasps to a certain extent and not going to kill em to death with a fire of some form.

Disturbed the entrance to a bumble bee nest. Not a problem with them beeing there but how good are they at getting out if I have mashed the entrance?

depending on what the entrance is blocked with they will most likely die if they cannot unblock it.

Monitor the entrance to see if any bees arrive or leave within the next few hours.

If no activity I would try and clear the entrance hole.

Only pulling grass rather than digging. Opened up a place were they were trying to get in on arrival, seems to have worked. Will observe some more. Disturb the patch of grass and its a lot of buzzing.
