For the second evening this week, I've been privileged to witness the aerobatic spectacular that is the local resident bats.

Whilst tanding in the middle of the lawn, they were flying very low - often at eye level or below.

What a treat biggrin

For about 5 years now we've had a pair of bats doing this from Spring to Autumn. We only smoke in the garage so it's always likely I'll be passing from the back door to the garage door just before dusk, in time to watch their aerobatics, sometimes close together but usually separately. It's quite hypnotising trying to follow their rapid flights across the garden and not flinching when they miss my head by less than a metre.

We have two little bats around our place from time to time. Batty-bat and his missus.
