My father told me he'd watched a television programme this week about dogs and, in particular, their ability to sense human conditions.

He mentioned a story of a lady with breast cancer and how her dog's attitude to her apparently changed as she was in and out of remission.

I had a look but couldn't find it in the Radio Times.

Did anyone see this? If so, I'd be grateful if you could let me know if you remember which channel it was on.

Thanks,

Eric smile

Yes
It was called The Secret Life Of Dogs, narrated by Martin Clunes on ITV.

Can't remember what evening Wed I think.

It wasn't too in-depth but it was a good watch.

If this interests you then have a look at Medical Detection dogs. I've been to their testing/training labs and it's amazing. They can sniff out liver cancer cells in urine. They can detect Addisons disease, some forms of epilepsy and also when diabetics are about to go into hypo. Amazing stuff. With the cancer cells it is not all forms of cancers, only the once where affected cells are shed. (ie not leukemia or a brain tumour).
