Dog training - gun dog style

Never have I done something that is so frustrating and rewarding at the same time. You also need the patience of a saint! We now have our 5 month old cocker on the whistle, well not entirely but she is getting there. Her
retrieve is coming along nicely as well but we only play that game a few times a week though she does occasionally sod off with her dummy/ball and zooms around the garden with it in her mouth. She is also quartering the ground ok but she does get hung up on scent trails then charges off. Its a slow process but one that both my wife and I enjoy. Moral of the story... I wish we had stuck with just a pet dog
