London Borough of Barnet Dog Warden, impound
Discussion
Anyone know where the Barnet dog warden impounds dogs taken from owners?
Basically, elderly relative walking our dog on lead on the street. A staff roaming free comes across road to our dog (doesn't even have a collar), our dog barks at it and pulls relative after it. Our dog grabs onto the staff, owner of staff shouting making things worse (encouraging possibly). Relative pulls our dog away, three months later our dog is taken by the police. We just want to see our dog to make sure she's okay but no one seems to want to tell us where she is.

Having discussed this with a dog warden in the past, they don't usually remove a dog "simply" for having a go at another dog. At a human, yes, but not a dog. Where I used to live we had a really troublesome dog/owner (Dobermann) who would properly attack any dog he could get hold of. Multiple other dog owners complained to the police and the warden, and although the owner was spoken to, no further action was ever taken.
I hope this is not one of those all-too-frequent PH posts where there subsequently turns out to be far more to the story than stated.
