Dog hair - it just won't stop!
Discussion
Our pup started shedding about the same time we finally got heating in our house - nearly 2 months on the amount of hair he is dropping is insane.
I got so fed up of dragging the main vacuum around the house I bought a cordless stick vacuum so I can zip around the house on a daily basis. Thing is I am doing that once a day and by the end of the day his hair is everywhere again - so now I am hoovering twice a day! Thankfully its all floorboards in the house at the moment so lifting the hair isn't to much of a drama - I would be crying if we had carpets!
I brush him with a range of brushes and he is on some very good food - but it keeps coming, and coming …. to the point I am amazed he isn't bald!
Problem is even with all the hoovering, it gets caught on clothes, bare feet, socks and then distributes its self even in the areas where he isn't allowed and its starting to drive me bonkers!
Does anyone have any tips for helping to minimise the shedding - is it just especially bad as its his first proper coat coming through? He is 6 months now.
Thanks

What type of dog? We have two springers, one sheds loads and the other doesn't.
They both get combed with a furminator which pulls out the dead hair before it has a chance to fall out I think.

Amazing the amount that comes out. Recommended.

He's a black lab - and being black you can spot his hairs a mile off. My parents had 3 dogs and 2 cat and never had the same hair issue we are experiencing.
He gets the furminator, the love glove, a pin brush and a soft brush and despite it pulling piles out - lightly rubbing his coat will leave a nice pile of hairs on the floor for me to hoover up!
I am hoping its just this bad as its his first coat …
Those Roombas look great but the price is a little off-putting. Whats the battery life like?

It's the 1 thing that put me off getting a lab. My ex's mum used to have one probably the nicest dog I've ever met but feck me the hair was crazy. +1 for Furminators. Have used one on horses and the amount of shed they remove is incredible. They both get combed with a furminator which pulls out the dead hair before it has a chance to fall out I think.
