What do posters think of this? Is it possible for Will's activities not to conflict with his advocacy for the non-hunting of 'endangered' wildlife?
Is it just bad timing?

I think it is preposterous and hypocritical. Standard Royal Family really.

There's no conflict, so far as I can see.

Are we likely to run out of Deer ?

Ok to hunt deer, not ok to hunt Tigers. Seems ok to me. Perhaps it has more credibility coming from an actual hunter?

No problem IMO.

Ones legal and not endangering a species, the other is the opposite.

That said his PR people should've seen it coming.

I think it's terrible he's out there hunting giant panda's and the like hasn't he got some colonials to shoot instead?

What a non story. Shame it's printed by the bbc. They are becoming more like the mail and we have to pay for it!

I've no problem with it, but his PR people must be a complete bunch of amateurs for timing like this.

Providing what was shot, was eaten, then I don't have a problem with it. No different to dispatching any (no endangered) animal for food.

the type of shooting done was basic culling of deer/boar

both species are in need of serious culling as they now have no natural predators and populations have increased to the level that starvation takes place in the winter months

I was involved in Scottish deer stalking and we have totally lost control of our required cull numbers - after a hard winter go on the 'hill' and you will find numerous dead beasts that have simply starved to death

I used to offer free stalking to cull and could still not meet the necessary quota's

Really? I've occasionally thought about having a go but dismissed the idea as I thought it would be expensive.

It's important to preserve endangered species so we can eat them later.
