Just after recommendation please anyone in the know, our 10 year old Labrador is starting to get some aches and pains in his rear quarters as confirmed by our vet at his recent check up. She had a range of supplements there but I wanted another opinion on what brands/types to avoid or not and anything with a proven record.
Thank you in advance.

We use Newmarket joint supplement. It works wonders for ours !

Shop around though as prices vary wildly.. I buy mine from a site with a South American river name !! wink

I too have a 9 year old lab who is getting a bit stiff in his old age, I have been looking into this, google "raw apple cider vinegar" and also "devils claw" and see what you think...

I've been using the cider vinegar for a couple of weeks now..

We give our Airedale Coseflex DS

I know it works, because when we've run out of it a couple of times in the past he's been noticably stiffer.

There is an injection dogs can get, usually a series of 3/4 then quaterly. Its meant to repair the cartilage, think its something like Carphofern.

As for supplements we just add a glucosamine tablet (bought from local health store) to his meal everyday. Works pretty well along side the quaterly injections.

Between those 2 and changing his diet he is moving around a lot easier and he was.

HI, I use Arthra aid (think that's how it's Spelt). You can get it on line in tablet or powder form. I used it for my 10 year old leonberger. It's has worked wonders for him, he's gone from bein really stiff etc to bouncing round like a pup again.
