British short hairs… where to get them from?
Discussion
Hi ladies and gents:
I have had my first pet (Molly) for 2 years now, she is a 8 year old domestic short hair rescue.
Basically, I feel ready for another cat or two and am toying with the idea of getting a couple of british short hairs (either kitten or very very young ones) so Molly can "mother" over them.
Any recommendation as to where to start looking? Been looking at gumtree so far and even though there is a few seemingly legit listings where you can see mum and dad etc, it just feels wrong to be buying kittens from gumtree?
Thanks in advance.

Nice one, that is exactly the kind of thing I've been looking for. Any problems with your lot? What was your experience like?We had a Blue and a brown spotted shorthair 11 years ago having got then 3 months apart.
They are the soppiest, most friendly cats in the world - we have had 3 children since we had the cats and they adore the kids.
With any pedigree breed they haven't been without vets bills - insurance has been very very worthwhile.
Ted (my blue) had a blocked bladder due to crystalline build up in his urine, Jeff had an eye that started to melt, - both were very big bills which the insurance took care of.
They are absolutely wonderful companions and family members - useless as Cats as neither one had ever caught anything bigger than a spider. Each year Ted brings home a dead fledgling he has found and tries to pass it off as something he has caught - we know the truth. Jeff meows at stuff which is as far as his predatory instincts go.
Best and cheapest way to feed them is raw minced beef - we buy the frozen stuff at £6 a bag and it last them nearly a week.
When they were kittens we fed them on raw Ox cheeks - unfortunately trendy chefs have now made that an insanely expensive proposition - but it didn't half make them into sizeable creatures.
Any other questions just ask..
