WTF was this (spider)

Don't normally mind 'em, but the way this little fella 'reared up' and took a defensive stance was out of the ordinary. Size not really coming across in picture, almost as big as glass when flat.

FFS I thought living in Aberdeen it should be too cold for 'exotic' bugs...

Why do people care what flavour of spider it is? It should already be on fire by now and if you suspect it has friends then the rest of the house should also be on fire.

I have a downstairs too, well posh. At least it was until this thing took camp on the stairs. Maybe if had got close & listened I would have heard 'none shall pass...'

The stance in the picture kind of makes it look like an Aussie Funnel Web though the reality is it's probably a harmless House Spider.

Never known them to rear up before though...
