Oscar our 5 year old Lab seems to have developed a habit of every so often shooting off what i assume to be his anal glands. Not done it for a month or so but this evening he has been stinking. I let him out in the garden earlier and he was dragging his arse slog the floor a bit but otherwise he seems perfectly normal.

Is this anything to worry about? Do i need to do anything? Take him to the vets?

Can be a symptom of worms but not very common these days and much more likely due to anal glands causing bother. They're probably a bit too full so cause irritation and then when excited/ scared a sudden muscle clench causes some of the secretion to escape!!

The vets can empty them and that should resolve the issue for a good few months (v occasionally they can become infected so they can ck this aswell)

Well, my stuck record is stuck. Get him on a raw diet and that problem will vanish.
