This bird appeared on my friend's windowsill the other day. It's quite unusual looking. Does anyone know what it is?

Definitely an adolescent.

Thanks!

It doesn't flag up on my edible radar so I have no idea what it is. But it is definately interested in what is going on in the house, maybe it's casing the joint. So it could be a jail bird?

I suppose it does look like a starling. I think the color of the beak and the long neck is what makes it unusual.

Thanks for the responses!
