What's wrong with my cats eye?

It's been like this for a couple of days and doesn't seem to be getting any better. He doesn't appear to be at all bothered by it and hasn't changed his behaviour in any way although he generally keeps it shut.

He even lets me clean the gunk out with a bit of cotton wool, he's not overly keen on the process but as long as he gets a tickle under the chin then he's happy for me to carry on.

Whilst cleaning him up today I noticed he's lost a bit of fur so I suspect he may have been fighting but I just don't know whether to leave him alone bar an occasional gunk clean or whether he needs to see a vet.

Needs an antibiotic shot as a minimum. Cat wounds can turn nasty very quickly, and that side of his face looks like it's swollen.
