Anyone got any advice on these as my dogs have decided that their garden now extends for miles around (its impossible to secure the fencing as foxes constantly dig under it)
Although they always come back I would like to be able to check up on them and find them at anytime

I've seen the Pawtrax one, but it doesn't look to be waterproof

So anyone got any advice on what device works well with iOS and doesn't cost a fortune to either buy or use (I presume they use constant SMS)?

We have a Pawtrax - it's completely waterproof (IP65). Ours has survived several immersions.

However it's exactly the same as the yellow version of the MT90 tracker you can get on eBay for rather less, though you won't get their very good support, the collar, or smartphone software; you'd have to rely on texts with Google Maps links.

We've found it very handy at times, but you really need a good 3G signal so it's little use out in the wilds, and the GPS can lose its position in dense tree cover.

Their website says:

Q: Is it waterproof?

A: The PawTrax 2 is water resistant - The micro is water resistant but we supply watertight pouches.

Hmm. Their User Guide says "Waterproof, although the housing is tested to be waterproof, full guarantee cannot be given for continuous submersion".

The MT90 manufacturer rates it IP65, which should easily be good enough for normal use. Ours has been fine in all weather and occasional swims in rivers and the sea.
