Penguin pets

If you had a big garden with a huge pond is there anything stopping you having penguins? I guess you'd have to make sure it was well enclosed. Special licence needed? wouldn't be a dangerous animal to have arround would it?

What type of penguin are you thinking about? Maybe invest in some shares in ice for winter months.

I've often wondered the same, OP. I love penguins.

I did consider that it might be a bit warm for them, but then figured that its quite feasible to keep it in the fridge and it could st in the salad crisper.

Dangerous? Moorish I would say you can buy them 32 at a time in the supermarkets.

African penguins cope with an almost subtropical climate. It was very warm when we visited the Boulders colony near Cape Town last Christmas.

I remember reading that they need a LOT of care and attention, a lot of fish, and they make a lot of n oise and guano. Also, you have to keep a large group as they are very social animals and get lonely easily.
