On Friday morning 2 young otters had been spotted several times around the village we live in.
at around 10pm on Friday night it was evident that they were lost and struggling to find any way back to their mum / where they lived. They were seen going underneath a car and into the engine bay. After trying to call for help my partner couldnt get through to any of the relevant authorities and the police couldnt offer any advise, she took it upon herself with some help from neighbours they got them into a box and she took them in and kept them in the bath overnight.
Eventually getting through to the SSPCA and with advise from the otter trust she had done the right thing to give them the best chance. The SSPCA picked them up within 2 hours of getting through to them. The girl that picked them up Idendified them as 2 females around 10 weeks old.
Daisy the cat can now add otter sitter to her CV

we only had tuna in the house and the otter trust said they prefere salmon or trout so it was a saturday morning trip to the CO OP for some salmon, they never ate it though as they were not weaned yet.
The SPCA were on the phone earlier and they are both doing well, they are currently in Fishcross and will be for afew weeks, when they are ready to go back into the wild they will hopefully phone my partner so she can see them back into the wild.

It was actually the Mrs that took them in, I was working away and when she phoned me I didnt think it was the best idea bringing 2 otters into the house with 2 cats in it. One of the locals contacted the local press and since then her phone has been going constant with different news outlets wanting to use the article / speak to her. She was live on BBC radio Scotland talking about it earlier as well.
