Collagen for dogs

Anyone tried it? Our artharitic 14 y/o mutt has bern on yumove for most of his life, on the basis of 'it won't do any harm'

I suppose we could try collagen suppliments on the same basis, but no clinical trials to support either.

Snake oil or worth a go?
