Raw Diet - Puppy to adult dog feeding frequency change.
Discussion
We have a 6 month old Tibetan Terrier who has now reached 75% of his final weight and has been on a constant raw diet, fed 3 times per day with equal portions sizes per meal.
He will be remaining on a raw diet going forward.
From what I understand the feeding frequency should be reduced from 3 times per day to 2 times per day at this lifecycle stage.
For reference his total food intake for the day is between 450g and 540g which is the recommended intake for a puppy of his weight.
An adult dog of his weight would be 180g to 270g total food intake for the day.
Couple of questions :-
I assume at 6 months he is still classed as a puppy with regards to feeding quantities?
When moving from 3 feeds per day to 2 per day, over what sort of timescale should the middle feed be reduced and the 2 either side be increased? Incrementally over 1 week? 2 weeks or longer?
Or could we just move right on to 2 meals per day now without any transition?
As far as being classed as an adult dog with regards to feeding quantities g quantities, I assume that will be when he reaches his fully grown size and weight and is stabilised for a period of time?
Again, what sort of transition period should the reduction in total daily food intake be over?
TIA

My dog and past dogs were fed raw and occasionally some scraps from our cooking.
Change from 3 times to two around 6 months and yes he’s still a puppy. Make the feed times suit your schedule, your dogs not going to die because he’s missed a meal by a few hours.
I like to feed mine a lighter breakfast (6:30-8:30 am) and then around 4-7 pm a heavier meal.
