Saw this in the kitchen section of a large furniture biased department store made of red bricks.
What the hell is it?
There was no price tag on it.

Appears to be Alessi Ellipse (https://www.alessi.com/gb_en/product/table/baskets-and-fruit-bowls/set-composto-da-3-contenitori-in-acciaio-colorato-con-resina-ellipse-abi07set1.html) with something unrelated on top of it

I thought that. The white bit at the handle end would potentially protect you from the knife blade.
