For those that don’t know, an eggcorn is where a word or phrase is misheard and changed but where the change is vaguely plausible. Here is a link for a fuller explanation:

I have to admit that well into adulthood I thought that the phrase “damp squib” was actually “damp squid”! Actually I think it was when I was reading about eggcorns that I finally realised I had been making a mistake.

Any you know or would like to admit?
