I have 2 leather jackets which I love but have been stained. One’s a white Versace, the other burnt orange Gucci.

Has anyone had success in getting leather professionally cleaned?

I have cleaned black leather myself using saddlesoap and then conditioning and other products but I wouldnt risk that method on your colours.

Johnsons have a special leather cleaning facility but watch their Ts and Cs, if they screw up then their liability is limited to a very modest amount. I had a Boss suit which had all the buttons ruined, they just crumbled away, they offered £10 as compensation, their maximum.

Just go for a fast ride in the pouring rain! My leathers get washed every so often by just this method, though thinking about it they do look pretty rough!

A white leather Versace jacket is likely to require a very different method to leather motorcycling trousers.

I presume the OP's items are also vintage so they might need pretty delicate handling.

I’d like to see them too. And I’ll be honest, it’s probably to mock.

Just intrigued really, as I've seen black and brown mainly but don't think I've ever seen anyone rocking white or burnt orange before so trying to get a picture in my head.

There are some specialist websites for that kind of thing.

I have to second that request for photos.

I’m intrigued as to what sort of person wears white Versace leather and to where.

Large visible brand logos?

Versace did a white leather biker jacket, Gucci also made a dark orange biker jacket.

I cannot imagine that they would look right on a Triton at the Ace but I wouldn't mock whatever people want to spend their money on, personal choice and I guess a genuine question from the OP

Not actual photos but not unlike these.

If they are lightweight leather best bet is a tooth brush and saddle soap.
Try it on a hidden bit first.

If it's heavyweight leather you can attack with a bit more vigour.

Specialist cleaners are few and far between these days so if you value them I'd be reluctant to outsource.

I had a jacket that was a similar colour as the second jacket, I cleaned any marks from the leather with just a microfibre cloth and a mild detergent, rubbing the cloth in small circles. I have heard of others who use a leather furniture spray polish, Lidl make a yellow top furniture polish with a high wax content. This is much easier if someone else wears the jacket as you do the cleaning although this tends to lead to kissing and cuddling etc.

In terms of specialists cleaners Johnson Dry Cleaners have a specialist dry cleaners for leather but as I suggested earlier check their conditions, they limit their liability even if any damage is caused by them

I think the poster Fermit is the leather expert on the forum:
