What Have You Inherited From Your Parents?

You inherit 50% of your DNA from each parent, determining physical traits (eye/hair color, height, skin tone), blood type, and health risks.

From my Dad, bad skin, grey hair and a glass half empty outlook, but as he lasted to 92, maybe a longish life.

What good or bad things did your parents gift you, physical, psychological or behavourial ?

From my 'dad', the habit of putting things on or near the edge of the table, or even overhanging. It used to drive him mental. He would always push them away from the edge and shout "Don't put things near the edge". I wonder if it was from his Navy days.
Also a live of Sci-Fi and cats.

My Dad crossed the globe birdwatching and my brother has lived in various different countries.

My Mum was a real home bird and I rarely leave south east England.

Mum - Over worrying about everything, which I'm only just starting to realise has probably held me back and stunted my ambition due to not taking risks and playing life too safe, when I feel like a natural risk taker and love high adrenaline sports etc, so always fighting against my natural disposition if that makes sense. LOTS of good things too, so I can't hold much against her.

Dad - I'm turning into him, but I spent so much time shadowing him when I was a kid it's inevitable really, but I catch myself doing or saying things now that used to annoy me about him, and I'm exactly the same and shudder when I realise.

Same Although I do try to go the other way (some of his 'isms were way out of line) as much as I can, the odd thing creeps in. My intolerance of other drivers is definately one of his traits, although I don't go full Ronnie Pickering as he would do on occasion.

Can you even call yourself a dad if you don't wander around the house switching all the lights off shouting 'IT'S LIKE BLACKPOOL ILLUMINATIONS IN HERE FFS!' whilst being completely ignored?

Dad – total dislike of hypocrisy, sense of humour, love of cars/engineering, receding hairline.
Mum – tendency to hoard, eat too much.

Dad - love of cars and audio, career as an engineer, nose, good head of hair, sense of humour, troublesome sinuses.

Mum - Tolerance, the ability to defuse tense situations, the love of alcohol in all its forms and an impressive pair of boobs.
And yes, I am male so the last one is very much a negative rather than a positive...
