Safety work trainers/ boots

Looking for new work safety boots or trainers .working in manufacturing on my feet between 8-12 hours a day. What do you all recommend ?

Must be super comfy
Lightweight is a bonus

It's a very subjective question as everyone is different. I work on a 7.5t multi drop parcels and spend a lot of time loading and unloading - driving is very much incidental to being on my feet all day. I wear a pair of Helly Hansen Oxford BOA boots. No laces to trip over and they are full safety with decent ankle support.

Safety bits are composite, so fairly light weight.

I go through a new pair of boots every 3 months, so just buy whatever Screwfix have on offer for about £40 with a reinforced outer toe. I always buy separate decent quality insoles since they make a difference to any boot.

I normally buy from Nisbets, tried several from 150 down to 30 quid and TBH much the same. Big difference is putting in some good insoles. I do 12+ hours without sitting down, 18000 steps a day and just about to start a 7 day stint without a break. I've been wearing these for the past 12 months...

I think the insoles which I change every 3-4 months are about 15 quid a time.

I used to work on a big site I had to walk around, would do 10k to 15k steps every day.

We had Strauss mid work boots and they were very comfy, like proper walking books. Cost a bit more at about £120 but seemed worth it and lasted a long time, plus if course work was paying so it wasn't an issue for me.

Most of their stuff including their clothing is pretty good

Currently wearing a pair of Grisport boots. One of the best fitting I've ever had compared to the offering from the sheds. Really comfy all day, maybe not the lightest.

Originally purchased a pair of walking boots years ago from them and the fit is the same. Made in Italy.

Used to walk best part of 25k steps myself (in a £10 safety boots), don’t do that anymore - but still work in a manufacturing (long hours).
UVEX looks fairly light and comfortable?

I currently wear a pair of Cat slip on boots,£120 but very comfortable with Scholl insoles.

Engelbert Strauss have hundreds of options which is a little overwhelming but they are good and the choice can’t be beaten.

Screwfix Site range are actually quite good, and there are a few different styles etc, especially for the price.

I had the Mercury trainer (i think) and were very comfortable to have on for hours at a time, although not sure if they still do them?

The only issue i found were the laces didn't last as long as the shoe itself but a set from amazon sorted that.

I just got myself some Site cheapo's from Screwfix as I'm office based 95% of the time and only go on the shop floor when required, but even they're not too bad, just lack a bit of feel for driving in (this is PH after all!)

Another vote for UVEX ones from me. Worn those for years between the workshop and office roles. Very lightweight with no real break in period.

Having worked offshore for a few decades doing 12 hour days I can fully attest to the comfort & durability of these puppies, they even come in fur lined for the winter if you need that.

My employer has a choice of two "approved" safety boots and both are utterly crap. One version looks like a Temu Doc Martin and weighs about as much as a Mini Metro, the other seems to be made of the least water resistant material on earth. Neither are pleasant to wear for several hours a day, in all weathers but policy states that's the choice. No option to buy your own and no option to wear lighter, safety trainers for lighter duties or driving. I'm pretty sure my feet will be ruined by the end of this so yes, I'd 100% advocate going to Screwfix or whoever and trying a few pairs on... uncomfortable boots for a full day are horrible.

I've always worn COFRA safety boots and shoe.

Which boots you buy depends a lot on where you're wearing them in my experience.

I wear Cats as I'm on my feet all day on a concrete floor so good sole to insulate my feet from the cold in winter is vital. If you're office based or driving then your needs may well vary.

Has anybody found any brands with a trainer type softish sole.

Most work boots have very hard soles for obvious reasons, I really struggle and even wearing inners leaves my feet really achy?
