The last good thing the UK built

Saw an old Top Gear last night Clarkson was doing a piece on the E Type. He said the E Type and Concorde are the last good things the UK built.

Mrs said that can't be true he's a bullstter. First thought was no it can't be. So started thinking.

We're talking mass appeal not niche science/tech stuff.

I dont think its all about building things. the UK created the world wide web which has had massive global impact, its isolated graphene which has impacted massively on production of products all round the world. Clarkson is just being his usual self with those two items. The E-type is massively over hyped and concorde may have been great but in reality it was compromised and neither of the two had "mass appeal" because of their cost.

While the car brands are Biritish, it's a shame about the ownership:

- Mini: German
- JLR: Indian
- Aston: Canadian/Chinese/Saudi
- McLaren: UAE
- RR: German
- Lotus: Chinese/Malaysian

The Olympic Park in Stratford - both in terms of its original purpose and what it has since transformed into.

Someone else mentioned the Elizabeth Line and I'd second that. HS2 will surpass that when it's finished.
