Having allegiances with Preston I have to say that Burnley may as well be Yorkshire - It's just a town full of Dinglessmokin;)biggrinbiggrinhehe

And being from Yorkshire I can tell you it's definitely in Lancashire - we certainly don't want 'em.. ;-)

You can always ask a local and see what they say... assuming you can:

1) Find a suitable translator
2) Get out of there alive to tell the tail.

You asked the same question in the Yorkshire section surely its easier to look at a map than to start two threads on it?

Burnley is most definitely in Lancashire, but the boundary with Yorkshire is around four miles away on the Todmorden road.....teacher

I find this post offensive and it infringes on my human rights, I am from Burnley and proud, especially after tonight's result against Reading in the championships play off semi finals.

Calling us Dingles or Yorkshire men is just as insulting as calling other nations with shortened names and you know what happens if you do that especially remove the the stan part of the name rolleyes

I'm with Turbo on this, I am not from Burnley, I was brought up in Manchester, but we moved to Todmorden and I couldn't get out of the quick enough and back to the sanity that is the Red Rose county

You're not lumping us with Burnley, it's in Yorkshire.

I just never got on with it, I moved there just after finishing school, my younger brother and sister went to school there, so they had a better chance to make friends, I was working in Manchester and just didn't know anyone. Once I started working in Burnley, I made friends here, so it was easier when I moved here. Apart from the local pub pool team, Tod just had nothing to offer me. (except it looked pretty in the snow)
